Mission: The mission of Lakeside School is to develop in intellectually capable young people the creative minds, healthy bodies and ethical spirits needed to contribute wisdom, compassion, and leadership to a global society. We provide a rigorous and dynamic academic program through which effective educators lead students to take responsibility for learning.
Snapshot: "Here's an example of the way we use PORTAL. At Lakeside, visitors to the fifth and sixth grades interview in small groups. To organize this, we can use PORTAL to bring up these applicants—with all the various pieces of information we need to take into consideration—and create balanced, small groups. We make sure we have appropriate gender balance, a good distribution of feeder schools; we are careful about the composition of each group. It is so easy to pull that information up. We used to do it all manually."
iRU is a great class. This time I was in the highest level training. It was helpful to be able to sit down, hands on, with different iR people. I could ask for advice about how to approach certain situations. I think it is beneficial to meet different people who are doing the same work I do in other institutions.
